ChronicBabe
Formerly known as…
Before I was a creative resilience coach, I spent 15 years (2005-2020) as a professional chronic illness advocate. This work grew out of my personal experience being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and a handful of other chronic illnesses at the age of 25. When I got sick, my world was changed almost overnight, making many of my life’s dreams impossible.
My book, available at ChronicBabe101.com, Barnes & Noble, Amazon and iTunes.
During my years as ChronicBabe, I was able to help countless people learn how to live an incredible life beyond illness. I reached people through my website, YouTube channel, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, weekly newsletter, membership programs, speaking engagements, one-on-one coaching, consulting, collaborations with healthcare brands, partnerships with non-profits, and even a successful book, ChronicBabe 101: How to Craft an Incredible Life Beyond Illness.
When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I had a 56k dial-up modem and an AOL account. And when I launched ChronicBabe, social media didn’t exist. Didn’t exist! Isn’t that adorable? My original blog was just one of a small handful about chronic health issues. Things started simple, and got waaaaaaay more complicated. But it was a whole lot of fun!
In 2020, I made the decision to cease adding new work to ChronicBabe. My original mission — to create a community that would nourish young women like myself who were sick and disenfranchised — was more than accomplished. Today, tens of thousands of people are blogging and advocating, powered by the individuals and non-profit organizations who support their work. I’m so proud to have been part of that movement.
I’ll never stop being an advocate. But it’s a joy to take one of the core tenets of my ChronicBabe teachings — creative resilience — and bring it to a wider audience today. The shift allows me to continue working in a way that helps people, but serve a much more diverse community.
